Tech StartUp Mixes up Reality at Fed Square using its Mobile Experience Platform

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, 07 FEBRUARY 2018: Australian tech startup tagSpace is showcasing its mobile app tagSpace EXPERIENCE, the latest in mixed reality innovation, at Federation Square today.

In an outdoor activation running throughout February, Fed Square visitors who use the app will experience an immersive display of animated robots, droids and drones.

tagSpace CEO Paul Martin said, “We’re excited to demonstrate the tagSpace EXPERIENCE app and the power of our mixed reality platform, tagStorm, at the iconic Fed Square; It will give more people the opportunity to feel the wonder and see the possibilities of this interactive technology.

“We know people are hungry for innovative new experiences that surprise and delight. Our pledge to users is that every time they fire up the app, they’ll see cool, entertaining and useful content.”

Released in August 2017, the tagSpace EXPERIENCE app is like a web browser for the new ‘Visual Web’ – it allows users to view large-scale, public, mixed reality experiences in an outdoor location, capture images and video of the virtual content, then immediately share to any of their connected social media networks.

With its high entertainment and engagement value, tagSpace EXPERIENCE is primed as a new way for brand marketers and enterprises to engage with their audiences and take their content to a new level.

“Mixed reality is the fastest growing tech on the planet and there’s a massive opportunity right now for brands to get a head start in this new age of digital media,” Martin said.

“Analysts are predicting it will be a $150B industry by 2021. We’re seeing massive growth, which has been bolstered by the likes of Apple, Google, Facebook and Snap.

“We’ve been in discussions with a number of companies, and soon we’ll be able to offer them access to our user-friendly publishing platform, tagStorm, where they can create their own mixed reality content. It will be like the Squarespace for mixed reality.”

The startup is also soon to release its next app tagSpace DISCOVER, which will allow users to view and interact with real-time information about the places around them.

The Fed Square activation kicked off today as part of the 5-day creative, tech and business event, Pause Fest, and will continue on the precinct’s event schedule until the end of February.

tagSpace EXPERIENCE is available to download on Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store.
